(Tekil ve Çoğul Nesneler ve Vardır / Yoktur İfadesi)
“There is / there are” Türkçe’de “vardır” ifadesinin, “there isn’t / there aren’t” “yoktur” ifadesinin karşılığıdır. Tekiller ve sayılamayan isimler için olumlu cümlelerde “there is / there are”, olumsuz cümlelerde ise “there isn’t / there aren’t” ifadeleri kullanılır.
Singular (Tekil ve Sayılamayanlar)
Olumlu cümlelerde “there is” ifadesinden sonra bir isim kullanılarak cümleye başlanır. İsimden önce sıfat ya da belirteç kullanılabilir. Soru cümlelerinde “Is” cümlenin başında kullanılır. Olumsuz cümlelerde ise ‘there isn’t ‘kullanılır. Kısa cevap olarak ‘’Yes, there is / No, there isn’t” kullanılır. “There is” “there’s” şeklinde yazılabilir.
